The weather  was very squally overnight, rain, wind, snow, hailstones, hurricanes and any other act of God you can think of...........WELCOME TO SNETTERTON!!!

Woke up to drizzle on Saturday morning and it was declared a wet practice, lovely jubbly then. Most were ok in practice, but couldn't set  anything up, because nobody was going at race speed just a wobble round. A big welcome to newcomer Ray Johnstone (GSXR1052) who, with his team started the bike for the first time the night before.

Time for the battle to commence, and we are all on the first three rows! Thank you New Era.

RACE ONE. ROUND 5

.

Dry race.

The start was blistering with Steve leading round to Sears, with Malc, Mark, Neil in close company. It looked to be a close race but the  red flag came out. The race was about to start again but without Steve as he pulled in on the sighting lap. Mark and Malc got the hole shot with Neil side by side with Gary and Jes going into Riches, Mark was closely followed by Neil, Jes, Malc, (Gary pulled in on lap one)a little bit further down saw Rob, Ray,Keiron, Peter . Jes crashed out at Sears,  on lap four and Neil came to a stop on lap five. Mark came in first followed by Malc, Rob, Ray, Kieron, Peter.

"Oooo...noooooo I can  hear them coming..............."

.

After lunch and repairing problems on various machines it was indeed time for the Superstocks sixth round........unfortunately Neil wouldn't be racing again this weekend as the RC30 wasn't repairable

RACE TWO. ROUND 6

Jes, Steve (hearing those voices again) and Pete waiting for God......

Dry race.

Mark got a great start and led into Sears  with Steve, Malc, Jes and Rob slotting in behind. Steve had to pull in on lap two, with a persistent electrical fault, to leave the rest to tough it out. The racing was close and thrilling between Jes,Rob, Gary and Malc thundering along with nothing except a fag paper separating them! Mark was into the distance by this time, Ray was having a good old ding dong with an Aprillia and Peter chasing him, next up was Kieron. It looked as though Mark was going to take the win, but on the last lap 2nd gear failed, pulling in, bad luck. leaving Jes to take the all important 25points. Rob was second, with his very impressive wheelies, more or less out of every corner, and at least a quarter of the way down the back straight.  followed by Gary in third,  Malc in fourth and then Ray, Peter, Kieron.

After much hard work Steve sorted out the Harris and Mark replaced his broken engine with a spare engine ready for the next day's racing. A quite night down the pub was in order.

.

While Gary is cool calm and collect, Malc seems to have lost his head....!

SUNDAY

RACE ONE. ROUND 7

"Am I really on the front row?????"

Dry race.

Steve got a mega start off the line vying for first dibs into Sears alongside Malc, Mark and Gary. And what a fantastic fast race it was to be....Mark was off into the twins but this time not dropping off Steve and the rest, the race was on, while Steve, Malc, Gary, Jes (Rob had gone off grass tracking by this time) were chasing down Mark, we had Ray, Peter, Kieron , virtually swapping paintwork back down the field! at one point Ray, Kieron and Peter side by side down the start finish straight. Nearing the closing stages of the race Steve, Gary and Malc were fast catching Mark, on the last lap Steve was leading Gary into the esses when a lemming Loctite Yam swooped in on the inside and into second causing both Steve and Gary's eyeballs to stick to their visors! But what a drag to the finish just behind Mark in came Malc, Gary, Steve, Jes, Ray, Peter just piping Kieron on the line .

.

"What's this rabbit doing in my fairing?" asks Kieron

    RACE TWO. ROUND 8

Jes, Neil and Pete playing the waiting game...........

Dry race.

Malc got the hole shot into Riches before losing out to Mark, Gary and Jes on the exit of Sears (Steve pulled in). Gary, Rob, and Jes were hounding Mark on the start finish before Rob pulled in on lap two. Ray was holding off the intentions of Peter and Kieron with great effect, , Kieron was really hammering along the back straight hunting down another twin, not giving an inch; not bad for a man of 62 eh!; it looked as though he was going to catch him, a fine drizzle started, making conditions dodgy, don't push too hard? but the throttle hand got a bit excited and the GSXR of Kieron lost the front end, going into Sears. Malc was  catching in fourth on what was to be the last lap,  a bit too slippery and white lines saw the FZ highside Malc off at Russells.

Mark took the win ahead (not far)of Gary, Jes, Ray, Peter

Even though several boys went down [no injuries] and a host of mechanical gremlins and problems, a good weekend was had by all. We can rebuild her......... next meetings , Mallory Sun 30th, Donning ton Mon 31st
